Welcome to Mindful Moment.  If you're interested in learning more about mindfulness, a simple yet life-changing practice, you've come to the right place.

Why Mindfulness?   Our schedules are packed.  Our lives are chaotic.  We're part of a generation of doers and achievers.  It's no wonder that we often feel stressed, fatigued, and overwhelmed.   On top of everything, our brains are in overdrive; we have 50,000-70,000 thoughts a day.

Mindfulness is a practice that allows us to be in the present moment, aware of our own thoughts, habits, and feelings.  Once we cultivate this awareness, the feeling that our minds are like a runaway train diminishes.  We develop a sense of being more in control of our emotions and lives.  We choose how to react to stressful or difficult situations.  We feel more grateful, attentive, and accepting.

Most importantly, mindfulness helps us stay present in each moment of life as we are living it.

Ready to Begin? Mindfulness can be taught through a variety of meditation practices.  Each session doesn't have to be long; the important thing is consistency.  Just as with learning a sport or instrument or other skill, we start with the basics, keep practicing, and eventually learn to build on our knowledge and experience.

Mindfulness literally changes brain structure and chemistry, so once we begin to practice, it becomes easier to self-regulate and bring ourselves back to a state of calmness, focus, and self-control.
